"The Last Lions" movie is officially airing in theaters all over! Unfortunately, so far its only airing in the United States...I wish it could also air in my country..T-T
Its the story about a lioness going on a journey of survival...being the hunter, protector, and mother. Its going to be an awesome and inspiring movie!
Here's a brief introduction of the movie from SlickDeals:
"With an arsenal of informative magazines, elegant photographs, and illuminating documentaries, National Geographic has inspired planetary responsibility and natural wonderment for more than 120 years. Their latest filmed adventure, The Last Lions, ushers viewers into the wetlands of Botswana's Okavango Delta, where a lioness [nationalgeographic.com] named Ma di Tau and her cubs fight for their survival. From fleeing raging fires and cub-killing rival prides to wading through crocodile-infested rivers and the supermarket at rush hour, this family suffers perils that leave audiences touched and awestruck. Crafted by award-winning filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert, and narrated by Jeremy Irons, The Last Lions aims to raise awareness of dwindling big-cat populations while sharing a compelling story of hope. The film is rated PG for depictions of the food-chain cycle without the accompaniment of an Elton John song.So those of you who are in the states, don't miss this chance to catch this amazing documentary in theaters near you! If you're interested, here is a link to the movie's theater listings: [Link]
In the last 50 years, lion populations have plummeted, leaving roughly 20,000 in the wilderness. Proceeds from ticket sales of The Last Lions will further National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative [nationalgeographic.com] to increase understanding through education, research, and conservation, eliminating the need for overhyped lioness dating shows. Every viewing of the film's trailer [youtube.com] will donate 10 cents toward a jungle-king conservation fund. For more ways to donate, check out National Geographic's Cause an Uproar [nationalgeographic.com] page."
And those of you who are same like me..not in the states..but wish to support this movie..you can go to youtube to watch and share the official trailer of the movie. For every views of the trailer, Youtube will donate $0.10 toward a jungle-king conservation fund. There's a link up there in the summary I've posted. However I'll post up the video in my blog soon when I get back home..(Apparently youtube is blocked in the office..*bummer* =w= )
I'll just hope this would go into DVD or something..I'll definitely buy it! *cross fingers*
Lions are getting closer to extinction every year. So we need to do our part in helping to preserve these beautiful majestic creatures! (If I could I would adopt a lion as a pet..lol..X3)
So help and support the movie! (Especially all you Lion King fans..xP)
Love,
KIM
